De acuerdo con el diagnóstico que sitúa en la “deslocalización de las fronteras” uno de los rasgos característicos del régimen fronterizo contemporáneo, este artículo se propone dos objetivos. Primero, ahondar en las características privativas de dicho régimen a través de la seguridad y la gubernamentalidad como matriz explicativa. Segundo, tematizar y clasificar los complejos tecnológicos que habilitan la desvinculación de las fronteras respecto a sus marcadores geográficos tradicionales, bien externalizándolas, bien internalizándolas. Finalizaremos con una evaluación acerca de cómo las lógicas de la seguridad se instancian preferentemente en las fronteras estratégicamente cruciales para mantener y reproducir asimetrías relevantes del sistema internacional.

In accordance with the diagnosis which identifies the “delocalisation of borders” as one of the characteristic features of the contemporary border regime, this article has two objectives. Firstly, to delve into the privative characteristics of this regime through security and governmentality as an explanatory matrix. Second, to thematise and classify the technological complexes that enable the dissociation of borders from their traditional geographical markers, either by externalising or internalising them. We will conclude with an assessment of how security logics are preferentially located in strategically crucial borders in order to maintain and reproduce relevant asymmetries in the international system.
