    Los vitrales en Chile, tienen cien años de historia, que comienza en los años 1870 y que declina a partir de los años 1970. Los valores que transmite este corpus dan cuenta de las múltiples dimensiones de este arte: portador de historia, símbolos y la transmisión de conocimientos, entre los principales. Es un importante testimonio de la transferencia cultural que se produjo en un mundo en pleno periodo de expansión y movimiento. Esta breve reflexión se ha articulado desde el cruce de las relaciones entre los diferentes actores de este intercambio, como arquitectos, mandantes, artistas y los receptores de las obras, además del mercado local a la que este arte dio lugar.

    The stained glass windows in Chile have a hundred years of history, beginning in the 1870s and becoming less frequent from the 1970s onwards. The values that this corpus reflects the multiple dimensions of this art: carrier of history, symbols, and the transmission of knowledge, among the main ones. The corpus is an important testimony to the cultural transfer that happened in a world in the middle of a period of expansion and movement. This brief analysis is based on the relationships between the different actors involved in this exchange, such as architects, principals, artists and the recipients of the works, including the local market to which this art gave rise
