    Se aborda el tema de la presencia de jesuitas extranjeros en las misiones hispanas de los siglos XVI-XVIII, en particular como factor de su mayor interés por la cultura y lengua locales. Se aplica la experiencia usada en la historia de la antropología, ponderando la influencia particular de la nacionalidad o situación personal del observador en su propia sociedad. Se sigue la bibliografía pertinente en ambos casos (antropología y misionología), postulando las consecuencias derivadas de la nacionalidad o situación minoritaria de los autores.

    The subject of the presence of foreign Jesuits –Italians and Germans– in the Hispanic missions of the 16th–18th centuries is addressed, particularly as a factor of their greater interest in the local culture and language. The experience used in the history of anthropology is applied, pondering the particular influence of the nationality or personal situation of the observer in his own society. The pertinent bibliography is followed in both cases (anthropology and missiology), postulating the consequences derived from the nationality or minority situation of the authors.
