    La sustancia comercial llamada alumbre ha jugado un importante papel en la economía internacional y en la sociedad durante siglos. Esa sustancia ha sido fabricada históricamente a partir de determinados tipos de rocas extraídas de sus yacimientos mediante labores mineras y posteriormente procesadas en instalaciones específicas para ello, hasta la obtención final del alumbre comercial. Esas rocas extraídas de labores mineras y utilizadas posteriormente como materia prima (menas) para la fabricación del alumbre, podían ser de diferentes clases debido a sus litologías y a los mecanismos mineralógicos que les daban su carácter como mena de alumbre, existiendo tres tipos principales de esas menas de alumbre

    The commercial substance called alum has played an important role in the international economy and in society for centuries. This substance has historically been manufactured from certain types of rocks extracted from their deposits through mining and subsequently processed in specific facilities for this purpose, until the final commercial alum is obtained. These rocks extracted from mining operations and later used as raw material (ores) for the manufacture of alum, could be of different types due to their lithologies and the mineralogical mechanisms that gave them their character as alum ore and there are three main types of these alum ores
