Cobertura mediática sobre el asesinato del exalcalde Agustín Intriago. Caso: Medio digital El Universo

    Este trabajo de investigación realiza un análisis periodístico sobre el tratamiento del asesinato del alcalde de Manta Agustín Intriago mientras el país se encontraba en entorno electoral y de violencia. Este estudio se centra en las noticias generadas en el portal digital de diario El Universo, durante los días 23 y 24 de julio del 2023, correspondientes al día del hecho y, posteriormente, al sepelio. Se consideraron, en total, 26 noticias publicadas centradas en mayor volumen en secciones como: Ecuador y Seguridad. El presente estudio busca identificar el tipo de posicionamiento que tienen noticias cuya naturaleza mezcla elementos como la violencia, seguridad y política en los sitios oficiales de los medios de comunicación digitales. A través del análisis cuantitativo de las noticias se evidencia la existencia de un 61% del contenido que responde al género informativo con formato noticioso. Además de identificar que 14 de las 26 noticias publicadas tienen hipervínculos que se direccionan con las tendencias informativas en la red social Twitter.

    This research work carries out a journalistic analysis on the treatment of the murder of the Mayor of Manta Agustín Intriago while the country was in an electoral and violent environment.This study focuses on the news generated in the digital portal of the newspaper El Universo, during July 23 and 24, 2023, corresponding to the day of the event and, subsequently, the burial. Giving a total of 26 published news focused on greater volume in sections such as: Ecuador and Security.This study seeks to identify the type of positioning of news whose nature mixes elements such as violence, security and politics on official digital media sites.Through the quantitative analysis of the news, the existence of 61% of the content that responds to the informative genre with a news format is evident. In addition to identifying that 14 of the 26 published news have hyperlinks that are directed to the information trends on the Twitter social network.
