    Según Algazel, el espíritu infundido por Dios en el hombre, tal como dice el Corán, hace posible que el hombre pueda amar verdaderamente a Dios, pues le proporciona una naturaleza afín a la divina y la afinidad de naturalezas es la causa más profunda y verdadera de la que surge el amor. Muestra Algazel algunos de los aspectos de la naturaleza humana afínes a la divina con lo que se sitúa en los límites extremos del islam, ya que la afinidad se puede interpretar en un sentido de igualdad, cosa que él no admite.  Pese a ello, ha habido quien, como Ibn al-‘Arabī, le ha negado rotundamente dicha afinidad. En cualquier caso, Algazel se mantiene dentro de los límites del islam al negar, como la ortodoxia, la libertad en el hombre, pues esta es un atributo exclusivo de la divinidad. Pero dado que la esencia del espíritu es la libertad (Hegel), esta doctrina del espíritu presentada es totalmente ilusoria. Sigue finalmente la traducción del  texto de la causa quinta del amor del hombre a Dios: la afinidad de naturalezas

    According to Algazel, the spirit instilled by God in man, as the Quran says, makes it possible for man to truly love God, since it provides him with a nature affine to the divine and the affinity of natures is the deepest and truest cause from which love arises. Algazel shows some of the aspects of human nature affine to the divine, and with this he places himself at the extreme limits of Islam, since affinity can be interpreted in a sense of equality, something that he does not admit. Despite this denial, someone like Ibn al-‘Arabī has flatly denied this affinity. In any case, Algazel remains within the limits of Islam by denying, like orthodoxy, freedom in man, since this is an exclusive attribute of divinity. But since the essence of the spirit is freedom (Hegel), this doctrine of the spirit presented is totally illusory. Finally, the translation of the text of the fifth cause of man's love for God follows: the affinity of natures.
