This main objective of this research was to evaluate the relationship between Selfesteem and Addiction to Social Networks in adolescents and young adults in the western area of Greater Buenos Aires. A quantitative investigation was carried out with a nonexperimental design, of descriptive-correlational scope and cross-sectional temporality in which 98 adolescents and 81 young adults participated, to whom a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Questionnaire Addiction to Social Networks were administered. A negative correlation was found between Self-esteem and Addiction to Social Networks and no significant differences were found by gender in any of the two constructs studied, nor between Addiction to Social Networks and the sociodemographic variables age, educational level and current job. However, significant links were found between some of the dimensions of Social Network Addiction and the variables frequency of use of said networks, perceived personal discomfort and non-virtual friendships. Finally, regarding Self-esteem, it presented a positive association with age and educational level and an inverse association with frequency of use of social networks and perceived personal discomfort. Also, it is worth saying that those who currently work were those who had greater self-esteem.
