El presente trabajo es un análisis de la traducción al español de With the Fire on High, una novela juvenil de Elizabeth Acevedo donde la hibridación está presente en cada página. Nuestro principal objetivo ha sido descubrir cómo se han traducido las marcas de esta hibridación, si se han mantenido en la versión en español de la obra y en quémedida. Además, hemos tenido en cuenta la edad del público meta y hemos estudiado si puede haber influido en la traducción de los aspectos que analizamos. Para ello, hemos partido de una base teórica donde investigamos las características y los orígenes de la literatura híbrida y de la literatura latina de Estados Unidos, así como las técnicas que se suelen utilizar para traducirlas. Finalmente, nos hemos centrado en el análisis, donde hemos estudiado las variedades del español utilizadas, la traducción del cambio de código y el tratamiento de las referencias culturales.

In this paper we have analyzed how With the Fire on High, a young adult novel by Elizabeth Acevedo has been translated into Spanish. Hybridity is present in every page of this book and our aim has been to discover how its characteristics have been translated, whether they are present in the Spanish edition of the novel and up to which degree. Moreover, we have taken the age of the target audience of With the Fire on Highinto consideration to investigate whether it may have influenced some of the translation decisions. We have based our work on a theoretical background where we have studied the origins and characteristics of hybrid and Latino literature and the most used techniques regarding its translation. Finally, we focused on the novel and the translation analysis, where we examined the varieties of Spanish that have been used, the translation of code-switching and that of cultural references.
