Evaluación de la calidad del agua potable y propuesta de mejoras en la Planta de Santa Cecilia, Lago Agrio – Sucumbíos 2022

    El presente estudio evaluó la calidad del agua potable en la parroquia Santa Cecilia, cantón Lago Agrio, Sucumbíos, mediante análisis físico, químico y microbiológico siguiendo la normativa NTE INEN 1108. La metodología incluyó la recolección de muestras en tres puntos clave del sistema de agua potable: la planta de tratamiento, el tanque de almacenamiento y grifos de inmuebles seleccionados. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que la mayoría de los parámetros se encuentran dentro de los límites permitidos, aunque se identificaron áreas específicas con necesidad de mejora, especialmente en sectores con percepciones negativas por parte de los usuarios.El análisis de encuestas evidenció que, si bienen la mayoría de los barrios el agua potable se considera adecuada, en algunos sectores prevalecen percepciones de calidad “regular”. Además, se detectaron limitaciones en la continuidad del servicio en ciertas zonas, como el barrio Batallón Selva 54 Tungurahua, donde el suministro es "por horas".Finalmente, la socialización sobre la calidad y el uso responsable del agua fue ampliamente aceptada por los habitantes, destacando la necesidad de implementar programas educativos para sensibilizar y mejorar el manejo del recurso. Este estudio proporciona una base para proponer estrategias dirigidas al fortalecimiento de la gestión del agua potable y garantizar el acceso equitativo y sostenible en la comunidad.

    This study evaluated the quality of drinking water in the Santa Cecilia parish, Lago Agrio canton, Sucumbíos, through physical, chemical and microbiological analysis following the NTE INEN 1108 regulations. The methodology included the collection of samples at three key points of the drinking water system: the treatment plant, the storage tank and taps of selected properties. The results obtained showed that most of the parameters are within the permitted limits, although specific areas in need of improvement were identified, especially in sectors with negative perceptions by users.The analysis of surveys showed that, although in most neighborhoods drinking water is considered adequate, in some sectors perceptions of “regular” quality prevail. In addition, limitations in the continuity of the service were detected in certain areas, such as the Batallón Selva 54 Tungurahua neighborhood, where the supply is “hourly.”Finally, the dissemination of information on the quality and responsible use of water was widely accepted by the inhabitants, highlighting the need to implement educationalprograms to raise awareness and improve the management of the resource. This study provides a basis for proposing strategies aimed at strengthening the management of drinking water and ensuring equitable and sustainable access in the community.
