    El presente artículo tiene como objetivo reflexionar sobre el vínculo entre misión y espiritualidad, tomando como referentes dos lugares teológicos: el magisterio del Concilio Vaticano II y la teología mística de san Juan de la Cruz. La intención es hacer explícito el fundamento espiritual, las dimensiones y el propósito de la misión, según el paradigma de la Nueva Evangelización. En la primera sección del texto se define el ser de la misión y se indican brevemente sus tres dimensiones constitutivas: cristológica, trinitaria y eclesiológica. En la segunda sección se muestra que la Missio Dei es el fundamento de la acción misionera. En tercer lugar, se evidencia que la espiritualidad es la forma de vida que suscita y confiere sentido a la misión. Finalmente se ofrecen algunas consideraciones relativas al vínculo entre espiritualidad y evangelización. La tesis por demostrar es que la teología mística de san Juan de la Cruz permite al misionólogo profundizar en la comprensión del sentido último de la actividad misionera

    The objective of this article is to reflect on the link between mission and spirituality, taking as references two theological places: the teaching of the Second Vatican Council and the mystical theology of Saint John of the Cross. The intention is to make explicit the spiritual foundation, dimensions, and purpose of the mission, according to the paradigm of the New Evangelization. In the first section of the text, the being of the mission is defined, and its three constitutive dimensions are briefly indicated: Christological, Trinitarian, and Ecclesiological. The second section shows that the Missio Dei is the foundation of missionary action. Thirdly, it is evident that spirituality is the way of life that inspires and gives meaning to the mission. Finally, some considerations are offered regarding the link between spirituality and evangelization. The thesis to be demonstrated is that the mystical theology of Saint John of the Cross allows the missiologist to deepen the understanding of the ultimate meaning of missionary activity.
