Arteriopatía obstructiva en pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica a través del índice tobillo-brazo

    Con el objetivo de determinar la presencia de enfermedad arterial obstructiva periférica (EAOP) en pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica (ERC) a través del índice tobillo-brazo (ITB) del Servicio de Medicina Interna del Hospital General Universitario Dr. Luis Gómez López durante el período junio-agosto 2023, se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal con 35 pacientes donde se observó una predominancia del grupo etario de 61 a 70 años (34%) y del sexo femenino (62%); el 40% de los pacientes mostraron una ERC en estadio IIIa y EAOP grado III, 100% de los pacientes presentaron sintomatología correspondiente a territorio arterial femoropoplíteo, 51% infrapoplíteo y 6% aortoilíaco. Con respecto al ITB, el 60% de los pacientes presentaron valores anormales o elevados.

    To determine the presence of peripheral obstructive arterial disease (PAD) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) through the ankle-brachial index (ABI) of the Internal Medicine Department of the Hospital General Universitario Dr. Luis Gómez López during the period june-august 2023, a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out with 35 patients where a predominance of the age group of 61 to 70 years (34%) and female sex (62%) was observed; 40% of the patients showed CKD stage IIIa and PAD grade III, 100% of the patients presented symptoms corresponding to femoropopliteal arterial territory, 51% infrapopliteal and 6% aortoiliac. With respect to ABI, 60% of the patients presented abnormal or elevated values.
