  En este artículo, se hace un recuento del papel tardío que han tenido, dentro de la legislación mexicana, los derechos de los pueblos indígenas. Se pone énfasis en la importancia que para este fin, tuvo la aparición del Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional y de los vacíos, los cuales presenta la ley vigente, resultado de las negociaciones entre el Gobierno federal y el movimiento Zapatista.

  This paper recounts the late role that the rights of indigenous people have had in Mexican legis-lation. Also, the importance of the appearance of the Zapatista Army for National Liberation, and the gaps presented by the current law, which was the result of negotiations between the federal government and the Zapatista movement
