The Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market has proposed a new legal framework to update copyright regulations to the new digital reality. It addresses various issues, but we are going to focus on two aspects of the transposition that the legislator has made of this European standard: the regulation of text and data mining and pastiche. These are new provisions incorporated into the Spanish legal system that pose interesting challenges for copyright, as we are forced to react to new situations and use new concepts. However, this update is not without controversy, since the acquis Communautaire is not always respected.
