Christine de Pizan: la erudición en clave femenina

  La medievalística ha legado una copiosa bibliografía acerca del posicionamiento ideológico que Christine de Pizan mantuvo en relación con la condición femenina y sobre el estatuto de autor. No obstante, estos temas continúan siendo materia de discusión. A partir de esta comprobación, el propósito de este artículo es analizar las formas en que Christine de Pizan intentó transformar las concepciones medievales respecto de la mujer para legitimar su escritura e insertarse en el mundo intelectual de su época. Esta voluntad de integración la condujo a evaluar y reposicionar auctoritatescomo Ovidio, Jean de Meun o Dante Alighieri en un canon funcional a sus necesidades.

  Medieval scholarship has left an extensive bibliography about Christine de Pizan’s ideological standpoint toward the condition of women and status of author. However, these topics are still a matter of contention. Therefore, this article aims to analyze the ways in which Christine de Pizan employed the medieval conceptions about women. It will be argued that these were functional to her need and desire to legitimize her writing and to introduce herself in the intellectual world of her time. This integrative determination led her to evaluate and reposition auctoritates such as Ovide, Jean de Meun, and Dante Alighieri, into a canon that would serve her needs.
