    Este artículo aborda el devenir histórico de las cartas ejecutorias de hidalguía, desde mediado el siglo XVIII hasta la Edad Contemporánea. Durante las últimas centurias, estas sentencias de las Reales Chancillerías castellanas han pasado de reconocer el estatus jurídico privilegiado de sus linajes a convertirse en antigüedades suntuarias de colección. Durante el siglo XIX, la pérdida de sus valores jurídicos, propició su dispersión. Sin embargo, la riqueza de sus encuadernaciones, junto a la belleza artística y simbolismo de las minituras que suelen adornalas les han permitido ser apreciadas entre las artes decorativas españolas. En la actualidad se les considera patrimonio histórico documental español.

    This article investigates the historical evolution of the executoy letters of nobility, from the middle of the 18th century to the Contemporary Age. During the last centuries, these legal rulings of the Castilian Royal Chanceries have gone from recognizing the privileged legal status of their lineages to becoming sumptuary collectible antiques. During the 19th century, the loss of its legal values led yo its dispersion. However, the richness of the bindings, together with the artistic beauty ans symbolism of the miniatures that usually adorn them, have allowed them to be appreciated among the Spanish decorative arts. Currently they are considered Spanish documentary historical heritage
