This study examines the integration of digital competencies in early childhood education in Paraguay, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges posed by the inclusion of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The research emphasizes the importance of developing key digital skills from early childhood, which go beyond basic device usage to include critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It also discusses the pivotal role of teachers, stressing the need for continuous professional development to effectively guide children's digital learning processes, additionally, the study identifies the disparities between Paraguay and other countries, such as those in Europe, in terms of teacher training and infrastructure, which limit the full potential of ICT in education, methodologically, the study uses a mixed approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques to explore how digital tools impact cognitive andsocio-emotional development in early learners. The findings underscore the need fo comprehensive educational policies that prioritize digital literacy and improvedinfra structure in Paraguay’s early education system.
