    El conocimiento desde el punto de vista epistemológico es un proceso mental que da lugar al nacimiento de nuevas ideas. Por consiguiente, las corrientes epistemológicas son aquellas corrientes y sistemas de pensamiento que conllevan abstracciones paralelas en la manera de conocer el mundo. De aquí que el objetivo de esta investigación es describir las corrientes del pensamiento tradicional y emergentes de la investigación academia. La metodología de este es un estudio basado en el paradigma cuantitativo, bajo el enfoque de investigación documental de tipo descriptivo. Como resultado se tiene que las corrientes del pensamiento son concepciones que hunden sus raíces en posiciones filosóficas y psicológicas que se manifiestan en la práctica indagatoria en educación e imprimen su sello característico a los procesos formativos. Dentro de las conclusiones se encontró que, las corrientes emergentes permiten desarrollar una investigación interdisciplinaria en curso y construye grupos de semilleros, con el objeto fundamental de realizar procesos de investigación formativa. En la actualidad las corrientes emergentes son paradigmas que brotan de la dinámica y dialéctica histórica de la vida humana que se impone cada vez con mayor fuerza y poder convincente, a nuestra mente inquisitiva.

    Knowledge from the epistemological point of view is a mental process that gives rise to the birth of new ideas.Consequently, epistemological currents are those currents and systems of thought that involve parallelabstractions in the way of knowing the world. Hence, the objective of this research is to describe the traditional and emerging currents of thought in academic research. The methodology of this is a study based on the quantitative paradigm, under the descriptive documentary research approach. As a result, it is found that the currents of thought are conceptions that sink their roots in philosophical and psychological positions that are manifested in the investigative practice in education and print their characteristic stamp on the formative processes. Within the conclusions it was found that the emerging currents allow the development of ongoing interdisciplinary research and builds seed groups, with the fundamental objective of carrying out formative research processes. At present, the emerging currents are paradigms that arise from the dynamics and historical dialectic of human life that is imposed with increasing force and convincing power, on our inquisitive mind.
