  Introducción: El potencial del arte es una cuestión que se está explorando actualmente. Hasta hace relativamente poco, las diferentes expresiones artísticas estaban limitadas a un ámbito lúdico o de ocio, sin prestarle atención a los beneficios y usos que puede tener en otras áreas. Gradualmente, la situación está cambiando y el arte está cobrando mayor protagonismo en la sociedad, expandiéndose también su uso en otros ámbitos como el académico o el social. Metodología: Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la potencialidad del arte, concretamente del dibujo, a la hora de investigar en la academia. Para ello se han comparado tres estudios llevados a cabo con niños, niñas y jóvenes, con edades comprendidas entre los 4 y los 19 años. Resultados: En ellos se ha visto como el dibujo es una herramienta de gran utilidad al trabajar con distintos colectivos, ya que permite recoger datos que de manera escrita u oral no hubieran podido obtenerse. Conclusiones: Se percibe que investigar a través del arte puede resultar de gran interés en distintos contextos sociales y educativos.

  Introduction: The potential of art is an issue that is currently being explored. Until relatively recently, the different artistic expressions were limited to a recreational or leisure sphere, without paying attention to the benefits and uses it can have in other areas. Gradually the situation is changing and art is gaining greater prominence in society, expanding its use in other areas such as the academic or social spheres. Methodology: The aim of this paper is to analyse the potential of art, specifically drawing, as a research tool in the academy. To this end, three studies carried out with children and young people aged between 4 and 19 have been compared. Results: They have shown that drawing is a very useful tool when working with different groups, as it allows data to be collected that would not have been possible to obtain in written or oral form. Conclusions: It is perceived that research through art can be of great interest in different social contexts.
