      Introducción: En las regiones Guanentá y Comunera, ubicadas en el departamento de Santander (Colombia), al ser áreas excelentes para emprendimientos debido a su gran variedad de ecosistemas y la rica diversidad cultural, la integración de criterios de negocios verdes presenta tanto barreras como oportunidades únicas que pueden transformar las economías locales. Metodología: Este estudio se enfoca en el análisis de la cadena de valor de negocios verdes del sector agroalimentario con el objetivo de identificar y evaluar los criterios de sostenibilidad implementados en cada etapa del proceso productivo. Resultados: A través de un enfoque detallado en la eficiencia de recursos, la reducción de residuos y la innovación sostenible, se buscó no solo mejorar la competitividad de estos negocios, sino también contribuir al desarrollo económico y ambiental de la región. Discusión: abordando las barreras que enfrentan los negocios verdes en estas áreas, tales como la falta de acceso a tecnologías sostenibles, limitaciones financieras y la carencia de infraestructura adecuada. Conclusiones: Junto a esto, las oportunidades comerciales que surgen de la adopción de prácticas verdes, como el acceso a nuevos mercados, la diferenciación de productos y el fortalecimiento de la reputación empresarial.

Results: Through a detailed focus on resource efficiency, waste reduction and sustainable innovation, we sought not only to improve the competitiveness of these businesses, but also to contribute to the economic and environmental development of the region. Discussions:  Addressing the barriers faced by green businesses in these areas, such as lack of access to sustainable technologies, financial constraints and lack of adequate infrastructure. Conclusions: Along with this, the business opportunities that arise from the adoption of green practices, such as access to new markets, product differentiation and strengthening corporate reputation.
