    At least since Norbert Wiener’s cyber circle (in the 1950s), the phenomenon of the interconnection of computer devices and the development of networks has been linked to elements of analysis that are not only technical, but also social. Within this context, this study proposes reflections on democracy as a human value that need to be synthesized in technologies that are, in this sense, communication network platforms, in the hypothesis of the technologies themselves (and their developers) aim to reflect online the social system present in the offline world. Therefore, the present research adopts the perspective of a design that is sensitive to human values (Value-Sensitive Design). This analysis is exemplified with the app Bridgefy, which was used globally in 2020 in various protests, such as in the “Black Lives Matter”movement and in the protests against the re-election of the Belarusian president, Aleksandr Lukashenko.

    Sin dall’avvio delle riflessioni di Norbert Wiener sulla cibernetica negli anni Cinquanta del secolo scorso,il fenomeno dell’interconnessione dei dispositivi informatici ed anche dello sviluppo delle reti è stato collegato ad elementi di analisi non solo tecnici, ma anche sociali. In questa direzione, l’articolo propone riflessioni sulla democrazia come un valore umano che necessita di essere sintetizzato in tecnologie che, a loro volta, sono piattaforme di reti di comunicazione, nelle ipotesi in cui queste tecnologie siano destinate a rispecchiare il sistema sociale presente nel mondo offline. Perciò, lo studio adotta l’ottica di un design sensibile ai valori umani (Value-Sensitive Design). L’analisi è esemplificata con l’applicazione Bridgefy,che è stata utilizzata, nel 2020, in diverse proteste in tutto il mondo, come nel movimento Black Lives Matte re nelle proteste contro la rielezione del presidente della Bielorussia, Aleksandr Lukashenko.
