El Centro Histórico de San Luis Potosí desde la perspectiva de la Escuela Ecologista de Chicago

    La presente investigación toma como base teórica la Escuela de Chicago, cuyos referentes principales encontramos a Robert E. Park, Roderick McKenzie, y Ernest Burgess. El objetivo es entablar un diálogo crítico con los conceptos e ideas principales de dichos autores en relación con el Centro Histórico de San Luis Potosí. En virtud de lo anterior, se encuentran similitudes que a mi juicio considero pertinentes en función de que el Centro Histórico presenta diversas características que guardan similitud con los postulados de dicha Escuela. Es así como en un discurso constante se plantean consideraciones en pro de interpretar las condiciones de tal espacio histórico bajo la perspectiva ecologista. Cabe señalar que, del pensamiento de los autores en cita, se perciben ciertos alcances y límites. Por un lado, la Escuela representa una metodología rigurosa y seria, para entender socialmente el fenómeno de la urbanización capitalista, por el otro, se observan ciertos excesos en lo relativo a la comparación con el concepto biológico, al grado de tener una gran incidencia empírica. De ahí que se genere un espacio de desarrollo de reflexiones vinculado al espacio histórico central.

    This research is based on the theoretical framework of the Chicago School, with key figures such as Robert E. Park, Roderick McKenzie, and Ernest Burgess. The objective is to engage in a critical dialogue with the main concepts and ideas of these authors in relation to the Historic Center of San Luis Potosí. As a result, similarities are identified that, in my view, are relevant, given that the Historic Center presents various characteristics that align with the tenets of this School. Thus, through a constant discourse, considerations are raised in favor of interpreting the conditions of this historical space from an ecological perspective. It is worth noting that, from the thinking of the cited authors, certain strengths and limitations can be perceived. On one hand, the School represents a rigorous and serious methodology for understanding the social phenomenon of capitalist urbanization; on the other hand, certain exceses are observed in the comparison with biological concepts, to the extent of having a significant empirical influence. This creates a space for the development of reflections related to the central historical space.
