    El masaje es una de muchas técnicas que utilizamos los fisioterapeutas, produce beneficios a nivel fisiológico, biomecánico, muscular, neurológico, hormonal y psicológico.

    Nos centraremos en aquellos masajes que tratan la cicatriz para la prevención de posibles limitaciones estructurales o que provoquen la restricción en el movimiento; siempre y cuando no exista riesgo de infección o esté contraindicado.

    Deberíamos clasificar el tipo, grosor, ubicación, inicio, duración, tiempo y técnicas para poder demostrar su eficacia.

    Aunque en la práctica clínica utilizamos el masaje en las cicatrices, todavía queda mucho por demostrar.

    Massage is one of many techniques that physiotherapists use, they result in benefits physiological, biomechanical, muscular, neurological, hormonal and psychological.

    We will focus on those massage that treat the scar to prevent possible structural limitations or that cause restriction in movement; as long as there is no risk of infection or it is contraindicated.

    We should classify the type, thickness, location, onset, duration, time and techniques in order to demonstrate their effectiveness.

    Although we use scar massage in clinical practice, much remains to be proven.
