    This text aims to analyze the feast of the Divine Holy Spirit in Rondônia in the 1980s, using documentary research on the website of the Digital Newspaper Library of the National Library. Articles from the Alto Madeira newspaper, published between 1980 and 1990, that addressed the festival in the Guaporé Valley were selected. The analysis of the articles revealed the appropriation of the party by the political power during the creation of the state of Rondônia, justifying the time frame chosen. In addition, the importance of the festival for the local society and its interconnection with political and religious factors that shaped its meaning in the period studied was understood. The newspaper played a crucial role in constructing the narratives about the party, introducing different perspectives throughout the decade.

    Este texto tem como objetivo analisar a festa do Divino Espírito Santo em Rondônia nos anos 1980, utilizando a pesquisa documental no site da Hemeroteca Digital Da Biblioteca Nacional. Foram selecionados artigos do jornal Alto Madeira, publicados entre 1980 e 1990, que abordavam a festa no Vale do Guaporé. A análise dos artigos revelou a apropriação da festa pelo poder político durante a criação do estado de Rondônia, justificando o recorte temporal escolhido. Além disso, compreendeu-se a importância da festa para a sociedade local e sua interligação com fatores políticos e religiosos que moldaram seu significado no período estudado. O jornal desempenhou um papel crucial na construção das narrativas sobre a festa, introduzindo diferentes perspectivas ao longo da década.
