    Este artículo tiene como objetivo retratar el papel de la masculinidad hegemónica en la configuración histórica y actual del orden global. Esta mirada ofrece la posibilidad de analizar los comportamientos, estereotipos, arquetipos y roles que rodean la construcción de los hombres, que, aunque varían de manera contingencial en tiempo y espacio geográfico, preservan similitudes entre líderes políticos, dirigentes revolucionarios u otros actores claves en la construcción de los tejidos que son objeto de estudio en la sociedad internacional. Lo anterior influye, junto con otros factores de índole económica, política, sociológica o jurídica, tanto en la configuración del orden global como en la disciplina misma. Así también, es necesaria la revisión y actualización de las teorías y metodologías de las Relaciones Internacionales, que ignorando el actual enfoque de género, contenían una visión limitada y parcial del mundo (sin ánimos de caer en el anacronismo), y que en las últimas décadas han conseguido traer a la conversación de las y los Internacionalistas.

    This article aims to portray the role of hegemonic masculinity in the historical and current configuration of the global order. This view offers the possibility of analyzing the behaviors, stereotypes, archetypes and roles that surround the construction of men, which, although they vary contingentially in time and geographic space, preserve similarities between political leaders, revolutionary leaders or other key actors in the construction of the fabrics that are the object of study in international society. This, together with other factors of an economic, political, sociological or legal nature, influences both the configuration of the global order and the discipline itself. It is also necessary to review and update the theories and methodologies of International Relations, which, ignoring the current gender approach, contained a limited and partial vision of the world (without wishing to fall into anachronism), and which in recent decades have managed to bring into the conversation of internationalists.
