La influencia del pitagorismo hermético sobre «La mariposa negra» de Nicomedes Pastor Díaz y «El cuervo» de Edgar Allan Poe

    Edgar Allan Poe y Nicomedes Pastor Díaz eran estrictamente contemporáneos y su obra literaria presenta numerosos rasgos comunes. La poesía de ambos es escasa, pero a la postre fue lo que les dio mayor fama en sus respectivas áreas. Hace casi siglo y medio que ha estado llamando la atención el parecido entre dos de sus más célebres poemas: «The Raven» y «La mariposa negra». En el presente trabajo resumimos la historia de la asociación entre ambas obras y mostramos los resultados de un estudio métrico comparativo teniendo en cuenta la tradición esotérica llegada hasta el Romanticismo.

    Edgar Allan Poe and Nicomedes Pastor Díaz were strictly contemporaries and their literary works have many common features. The poetry of both is scarce, but in the end it was what gave them the greatest fame in their respective domains. For almost a century and a half, attention has been drawn to the resemblance between two of their most celebrated poems: «The Raven» and «La mariposa negra». In this article we summarize the history of the association between both works and show the results of a comparative metric study taking into account the esoteric tradition that reached Romanticism.
