Emotional education is essential in early childhood education to create a motivating learning environment and promote positive intellectual development. This study analyses the importance of emotional intelligence in young children and highlights effective pedagogical strategies to manage emotions in the classroom. Various methods and resources are investigated that allow children to recognize and control their emotions and improve their interpersonal relationships. According to descriptive research that included surveys of twenty teachers in Quito, emotional intelligence is essential for the comprehensive development of children. The findings highlight the importance of fostering empathy among students, teaching them conflict resolution skills, and establishing a safe environment where emotional expression is valued and promoted. From the first years of life, these techniques improve social skills and emotional growth. The study highlights that emotional games, group activities and guided conversations can significantly help children recognize and understand their emotions. In addition, the importance of teachers continually training in emotional intelligence is highlighted so that they can better support the comprehensive development of their students. In conclusion, emotional intelligence is essential for children’s well-being and their academic and social success. Early investment in emotional education ensures a more balanced development and prepares children to constructively face emotional and social challenges.
