History in the sports field was conceived from practices oriented towards the neuromotordevelopment of an individual, taking into account mostly a biological individual; from this point ofview, the athlete and his actions have been studied from the Human and Physiological Sciences, butthe athlete's body has not been taken into account as an effect of a social and cultural practice;which makes these physical conditions cease to have meaning and signifiers are constructed inrelation to practices. The research work arises from this assumption, using a qualitative descriptivemethodology, with the aim of putting this biological body of the athlete in tension and addressing the discourses that underpin their practices, a place where the symbolic body is constructed crossedby culture and language; which allows us to give depth to new signifiers that construct it. Being agood athlete is not about performing well or being talented because of your physical abilities, wherebiology is the priority. On the contrary, research determines that a good athlete is built through hispractices that take meaning throughout his life and in which a body is reflected in culture, society, language and the relationships he has with others.
