  The challenges faced by Brazilian unionism, especially after the Labor Reform, and its impacts on the world of work, constitute the object of this research, which used the theoretical-propositional methodology. Therefore, a critical analysis is made between theory and practice of the neoliberal discourse, with an emphasis on the current development of unemployment and discouragement, and problematization is suggested in order to deconstruct the incipient foundations that intend to justify the new legislative changes and demonstrate the need to strengthen unionism as a protagonist in reducing social inequalities and implement the Democratic Rule of Law, in order to achieve the Welfare State.

  Os desafios enfrentados pelo sindicalismo brasileiro, especialmente após a Reforma Trabalhista, e os seus impactos no mundo do trabalho constituem o objeto dessa pesquisa, que utilizou a metodologia teórico-propositiva. Diante disso, fazse uma análise crítica entre teoria e prática do discurso neoliberal, com ênfase no desenvolvimento atual do desemprego e do desalento e sugere-se a problematização de forma a desconstruir os fundamentos incipientes que pretendem justificar as novas alterações legislativas e a demonstrar a necessidade de se fortalecer o sindicalismo como protagonista na redução de desigualdades sociais e implementar o Estado Democrático de Direito, para alcançar o Estado de Bem-Estar Social.
