Our aim in this paper is to obtain for the first time the functional and morphological structureof the Acts of Xanthippe and Polyxene, according to V. Propp’s model. The functions of the text will beanalyzed in order to draw the sequences that constitute the plot of the story. Furthermore, the differenttypes of Proppian characters will be enumerated. At last, the subsequent results will show more clearlythe similarities between this and other novelesque or hagiographical texts.
