El Patrimoni Cultural Immaterial a la ciutat en actiu: relats fotogràfics a les Festes de la Magdalena de Castelló

    Partint d’un temps i d’un espai concret com són les Festes de La Magdalena, a Castelló de la Plana, aquest projecte de recerca investiga les possibilitats pedagògiques de la fotografia analògica per aprendre sobre la ciutat i el Patrimoni Cultural Immaterial de les seues festes majors. Es reflexiona sobre l’ús habitual de l’espai urbà en contrast al moment de la celebració; es fa atenció a l’estètica i a l’educació artística; i es proposa posar al centre la imatge com a generadora coneixement. A través d’un conjunt de fotoveus i fotoentrevistes realitzades per cinc persones vinculades a la ciutat de Castelló de diferents maneres, s’analitza el potencial de la fotografia analògica com a eina pedagògica en un entorn no-formal per pensar la pròpia experiència a la ciutat en un context d’alteració del seu curs habitual, alhora que es reflexiona al voltant de la pròpia creació fotogràfica. S’aprofiten les característiques que el procés analògic i visual aporta per fer una mirada atenta al espai urbà i a les manifestacions culturals particulars. Les fotoentrevistes serviran per donar context a la narrativa visual de les participants, així com per fer sorgir noves idees a través de la creació, fent atenció al seu treball i al de la resta. Amb tot, es fa palesa la capacitat del mitjà artístic per aprendre i analitzar l’entorn, permetent pensar des de les diferents subjectivitats.

    Starting from a specific time and space, such as the Festes de La Magdalena in Castelló de la Plana, this research project aims to investigate the pedagogical possibilities of analog photography to learn about the city and its Intangible Cultural Heritage annual festivals. We contemplate the typical utilization of urban space during the celebration period, with a focus on aesthetics and artistic education. We suggest placing the image at the forefront as a source of knowledge. We analyze the potential of analog photography as a pedagogical tool in a non-formal setting, using a collection of photovoices and photo interviews from five individuals connected to Castelló in various ways. This analysis takes place in a non-formal setting, encouraging individuals to consider their personal experiences in the city within the context of a shift from their usual routines, while also contemplating the photographic process itself. We leverage the unique characteristics of analog and visual processes to closely examine urban space and spe-cific cultural manifestations. The purpose of the photo interviews is to contextualize the visual narratives of the participants and to generate new ideas through creative expression, while paying close attention to both their work and that of others. All in all, the capacity of the artistic medium to learn and analyze the environment becomes clear, allowing us to think from different subjectivities.
