This paper focuses on the situation of psittacidae, a word that refers to parakeets, parrots and macaws. The trade and possession of psittacidae are activities characterized by a high level of cruelty. On the one hand, the trade of parakeets, parrots and macaws lacks any kind of respect for the living beings it trades with –killing 7 out of every 10 specimens taken from their habitat. The 3% of the individuals that are resilient enough to survive the plundering and transport, end up paying a life sentence in a small prison in absolute isolation. This work attempts to show the dark story behind every wild animal used as a pet, especially the cruel reality behind every caged parrot that we see everyday
