Making the reality of students with disabilities visible is one of the objectives of this project.
As well as, giving voice to three of these protagonists who, through narration, will share their daily lives in El Salvador educational context at the Higher Education level. The aim is to reflect on the teaching staff and the position of Higher Education Institutions regarding disability. Using qualitative research, the biographical method and the life stories of Ernesto, Sergio and Keiry will illustrate the daily life of the disability of these students who are there, more present than ever, but are usually invisible. As mentioned in a phrase from the book The Little Prince, “what is essential becomes invisible to the eyes.” By telling their stories they become references, they constitute part of that living testimony that has been ignored for years and that now struggles to be shown. Knowing the reality of people with disabilities who make their way as university students helps us connect with that reality, raise awareness, and take action to change it.
