Resumen de Los centros educativos ante el acoso de las personas con discapacidad

Ana García Hernández

  • Disability is a condition that accompanies many children from the moment of their birth and that, sometimes, represents a great problem for them during their educational period. Students with disabilities often face situations of bullying promoted by teasing, insults, rejection or exclusion, physical or verbal abuse. This bullying not only affects their academic performance or emotional well-being, but also has a direct and permanent impact on their mental health. Working from the educational field to combat harassment towards this group requires large doses of education, awareness, development of specific protocols, training and psychological support. Families, teachers and, in general, the entire educational community, have a very important role in this fight since, without them, we would not be able to lay the foundations to improve educational coexistence. All of this will allow us to create educational centres more inclusive and respectful, which will guarantee all students, regardless of their educational needs, that they feel safe and valued in a reference environment such as the educational centre.
