Resumen de Bases neuropsicológicas de la dislexia a través de neuroimagen. Una revisión sistemática

Isaías Martín Ruiz, Elena Rueda Flores, Jose María Sánchez Robles

  • Dyslexia is a highly prevalent neurobiological disorder with great academic and social repercussions.

The various evaluation approaches affect certain criteria and characteristics, but given the diversity and disparity of definitions, a solid theory was not possible. This study attempts to identify the neurological bases of dyslexia that facilitate detection and diagnosis. For this purpose, a systematic review of studies that use diagnostic neuroimaging techniques in the period 2012-2023 in open science is carried out. 18 publications have been detected in Google Scholar, ScienceDirect and PubMed, following the DORA principles and meeting the criteria established in PRISMA. The results indicate that the identified neurological areas present dysfunctions in the left dorsal temporoparietal, ventral occipitotemporal and frontal brain circuits and are related to the main manifestations of phonological or visual processing, especially in areas related to the comprehension and expression of written language.
