    En el siguiente estudio se analizó la resiliencia y las oportunidades para los cineastas panameños. Esta investigación tiene como propósito explorar la historia del cine panameño y demostrar que debemos seguir apoyando este rubro para que crezca nacionalmente e internacionalmente. Para obtener resultados se realizó un cuestionario mixto y una entrevista a profundidad a nueve productores del Concurso Fondo Cine 2021 en la categoría de Largometraje de Ficción o animación. Este estudio es uno de los primeros en explorar acerca de las oportunidades que existen para los cineastas de nuestro país. Se indagó con la finalidad de conocer el por qué el cine panameño no es valorado por la propia población. Los resultados arrojan que existen oportunidades, pero es un rubro lleno de obstáculos, principalmente porque no existe una cultura en los panameños que los haga sentirse atraídos por el cine local, ya que, no es promocionado debido a los pocos recursos que reciben para este fin. Si bien, es cierto el gobierno panameño, específicamente MiCultura brinda apoyo económico a los cineastas para producir, los fondos destinados a promoción y mercadeo de los proyectos de cine son escasos o nulos a comparación del cine importado que llega a Panamá. Mencionado lo anterior, se necesita valorar y crear una cultura de cine que debe ser construida desde las escuelas, para lograr aumentar el consumo de cine local, de tal forma, que los escritores, productores y directores se sientan respaldados y las oportunidades de crecer vayan en aumento.

    The following study looked at resilience and opportunities for Panamanian filmmakers. The purpose of this research is to explore the history of Panamanian cinema and demonstrate that we must continue to support this industry so that it can grow nationally and internationally. To obtain results, a mixed questionnaire and an in-depth interview were carried out with nine producers of the 2021 Cine Fund Contest in the Fiction or Animation Feature Film category. This study is one of the first to explore the opportunities that exist for filmmakers in our country. It was investigated to know why Panamanian cinema is not valued by the population itself. The results show that there are opportunities, but it is an area full of obstacles, mainly because there is no culture in Panamanians that makes them feel attracted to local cinema, since it is not promoted due to the few resources they receive for this purpose. Although it is true that the Panamanian government, specifically MiCultura, provides financial support to filmmakers to produce,the funds allocated to the promotion and marketing of film projects are scarce or null compared to imported films that arrive in Panama. Mentioning the above, it is necessary to value and create a culture of cinema that must be built from the schools, toincrease the consumption of local cinema, in such a way that the writers, producers and directors feel supported and the opportunities to grow go on the rise.
