Condiciones psicoemocionales en mujeres con cáncer de mama en la “Fundación Padre Matías Mujica”, Portoviejo 2022-2023

    El cáncer es una enfermedad que altera totalmente la vida de quien lo padece, representando un gran desafío en varios sentidos tanto para el paciente como para sus familiares. La presente investigación determina las condiciones psicoemocionales de mujeres que han sido diagnosticadas con cáncer de mama dentro de la Fundación Padre Matías Mujica; en relación con la metodología culi-cuantitativa, descriptivo y exploratorio, en la cual participaron 15 pacientes con cáncer de mama en la Unidad Oncológica SOLCA-Portoviejo y quienes actualmente acuden a la fundación Padre Matías Mujica. Para ello, se usó una entrevista semiestructurada, la observación, la Escala Hospitalaria de Ansiedad y Depresión (HADS), y la Escala de Autoestima (EAR-Rosenberg); las cuales mostraron un alto nivel de validez y confiabilidad. En cuanto a los resultados obtenidos, se encontró que el mayor porcentaje de pacientes con cáncer de mama presentan un alto nivel de depresión, autoestima y aislamiento social, repercutiendo en su bienestar físico y psicológico. Se destaca así de los hallazgos que, los pacientes con cáncer son una población vulnerable debido desgaste físico y emocional que viven quienes lo padecen.

    Cancer is a disease that totally alters the life of those who suffer from it, representing a great challenge in several ways for both the patient and their families. The present investigation determines the psychoemotional conditions of women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer within the Padre Matías Mujica Foundation; in relation to the culi-quantitative, descriptive and exploratory methodology, in which 15 patients with breast cancer participated in the SOLCA-Portoviejo Oncology Unit and who currently go to the Padre Matías Mujica foundation. For this, a semi-structured interview, observation, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and the Self-Esteem Scale (EAR-Rosenberg) were used; which showed a high level of validity and reliability. Regarding the results obtained, it was found that the highest percentage of patients with breast cancer present a high level of depression, self-esteem and social isolation, impacting their physical and psychological well-being. The findings thus highlight that cancer patients are a vulnerable population due to the physical and emotional wear and tear experienced by those who suffer from it
