    En el transcurso de su segundo viaje (1895-1897), Eduard Seler y Caecilie Seler-Sa-chs visitaron el estado mexicano de Chiapas y la República de Guatemala, con el fin de estudiar sitios arqueológicos y juntar colecciones de objetos para el Königliches Museum für Völker-kunde de Berlín, Alemania. El presente artículo da un resumen del viaje, examina las diferentes formas de coleccionar y documentar las culturas indígenas en Chiapas y Guatemala, y presenta ejemplos de dibujos y fotografías relacionados con el viaje que hoy se encuentran en el legado de Eduard Seler y Caecilie Seler-Sachs en el Ibero-Amerkanisches Institut en Berlín.

    In the course of their second journey (1895-1897), Eduard Seler and Caecilie Seler-Sachs visited the Mexican state of Chiapas and the Republic of Guatemala in order to study archaeological sites and assemble collections of objects for the Königliches Museum für Völkerkunde in Berlin, Germany. This article gives a summary of the journey, exam-ines the different ways of collecting and documenting Indigenous cultures in Chiapas and Guatemala, and presents examples of drawings and photographs related to the trip that are now in the estate of Eduard Seler in the Ibero-Amerkanisches Institut in Berlin.
