This work offers a critical dissertation about an underrepresented field of study in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language: phonetic variation. Explicit mentions of the content of the subjects on Spanish pronunciation and dialectology, as well as empirical didactic proposals, are currently stillscarce. Consequently, in the second section of the article, several sessions with activities are proposed. Specifically, the phenomenon of seseo will be analysed, a phonetic feature of wide extension and scope, typical of southern and American Spanish, and, therefore, productive in the teaching of E/LE. The didactic proposal is based on the new plurinormative approaches to the language, in which the teaching of Spanish is conceived as a unifying element of great internal diversity, with multiple cultural norms and several standards. We will use the pedagogical possibilities offered by an innovative and trending study paradigm: the linguistic landscape
