Unha excursión de Emilia Pardo Bazán pola física: “La Ciencia Amena” (1876-77)

    This work analyses the articles that under the title of La Ciencia Amena, Emilia Pardo Bazán published between 1876 and 1877. Special attention is paid to the way in which the author uses the different scientific books and publications that she read in order to write the articles. The analysis shows a deep understanding of the main physical concepts presented along the different articles, suggesting that they are an original and autonomous work, not depending on the help of her scientific friends. As a consequence, it is also suggested that the scientific contents in her first novel Pascual López, are based on her scientific readings, and not in the advice of third persons. Finally, it is discussed the relation between the way in which Pardo Bazán and the Italian jesuit physicist Angelo Secchi confronted the problem of the relationship between science and faith.

    O presente traballo analiza a serie de artigos de divulgación científica que, baixo o título La Ciencia Amena, publica Emilia Pardo Bazán entre fins do ano 1876 e comezos do 1877. Estúdase en que maneira a autora utiliza diversos libros e revistas científicas da época para construír estes artigos, o que permite observar pola súa parte unha fonda comprensión dos conceptos de física que manexa. Este feito indica que Pardo Bazán elabora os artigos de maneira plenamente autónoma, e que a participación dalgúns amigos científicos foi probablemente moi limitada. Relacionado con isto último, suxírese como é moi probable que os asuntos científicos que trufan a súa novela Pascual López, teñan a súa orixe nas lecturas científicas da autora, e non tanto nas contribucións das súas amizades. Por último discútese o paralelismo entre a figura de Pardo Bazán e o científico xesuíta italiano Angelo Secchi na súa maneira de confrontar fe e ciencia.
