To improve the quality of teaching and learning in classrooms, teacher training at all edu-cational stages is crucial. In this context, the visible thinking approach and the development of executive functions emerge as key elements to enhance the educational process. This perspective providesteachers with practical and conceptual tools to cultivate fundamental cognitive skills in their students, preparing them to face the challenges of the 21st century. Therefore, this study presents a professional development plan for in-service teachers aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching and learning at each educational level. To deepen the understanding of the foundations of visible thinking and its applicability in the educational context, the training focuses on exploring the interrelationship between visiblethinking and the development of executive functions, including self-regulation and metacognition. Additionally, the plan emphasises fostering a culture of thinking, where the eight cultural forces act as the primary influence on promoting critical and creative thinking among students. All these elements are proposed with a view to direct application in the classroom.
