«The use of performance techniques by the Madres de Mayo. Teaching dynamics and comparative study between young people in Latin America and Spain». This research studies the use of artistic performance as applied to political and social demands and the perception that young people have of this technique. The authors believe that Madres de Plaza de Mayo –a social movement that existed during the Argentine dictatorship by mothers who wanted to know the fate of their illegally detained children intuitively adopted performance techniques to circumvent existing prohibitions and thus managed to attract international interest and sympathy for their demands. The authors also wanted to find out what the new generations thought of this type of action, so they created a teaching dynamic for their university students. This consisted of explaining, during two sessions, cases of performances applied to social and political demands in Latin America and Spain, a debate and a workshop. Afterwards, the students developed a group script and staged a performance on a social protest issue of their choice. Itwas followed by a mixed qualitative-quantitative questionnaire in order to collect and measure the results. The action was replicated at two universities, one in Colombia and the other in Spain, to compare the results.
