Every day it is common to read news that references legal concepts. Legal issues are very present in the press. From this premise, a methodological experience was carried out based on the use of press news as a tool to develop practical legal cases. The initiative was carried out in the Audiovisual Law subject of the Audiovisual Communication Degree, a non-legal degree with a profile of students with little legal knowledge. Thus, information was selected that related aspects of the agenda, of great public importance. Once the news was decided, a practical case was developed where the students had to answer a series of questions, which sought evidence of the application of the theory to the specific case. With this, the aim was for students to know how to relate theoretical concepts with reality and to verify that Law is present in everyday affairs. In addition, the aim was to promote the consumption of general information, as a vehicle to form a solid public opinion
