La qüestió de l’autoria del Llibre dels feits de Jaume I va ser motiu d’algunes polèmiques al segle XVIII. Provenien, però, d’altres manifestacions anteriors, vinculades a aspectes tangencials que els erudits i estudiosos del moment feien servir a favor d’uns determinats interessos o contra algunes altres opinions. Aquest treball s’endinsa fa una ullada als escrits de Jaume Villaroya, però també a alguns precendents, fruit de les confrontacions entre mercedaris i trinitaris.

The question of the authorship of the Llibre dels fets of James I was the subject of some controversy in the 18th century. They were preceded, however, by other earlier manifestations, linked to tangential aspects that the scholars of the time used in favour of certain interests or against other opinions. This work focuses on the writings of Jaume Villarroya, but also on other precendents, the fruit of the confrontations between Mercedarians and Trinitarians.
