    Los avances de la medicina han alargado la vida y complicado los tratamientos, así como sus consecuencias. En el momento actual la decisión sobre seguir o no esos tratamientos recae en el enfermo, su representantes legales o allegados, que deben tomar la decisión, con unos condicionantes, en el momento de enfrentarse al tratamiento. Además, cabe anticipar esa decisión, mediante un documento en el que la persona decide qué tratamientos se le aplicarán y cuáles no.

    Advances in medicine have lengthened life and complicated the treatments, as well as their consequences. At the present time the decision on whether or not to follow these treatments falls on the patient, their legal representatives or close relatives, who must make the decision, with some conditions, at the moment to face treatment. Furthermore, this decision can be anticipated, through a document in which the person decides which treatments will be applied and which will not.
