This article aims to present some results of an ongoing study on the Notary Public in the North of Portugal during the Middle Ages, specifically, regarding the circulation of the notaries public in different administrative districts. For this purpose, we will specifically focus on some examples of notaries who circulated between several localities, thus not being confined to a single place, in the region of Entre-Douro-e-Minho, in the 15th century. In addition to identifying writing agents and their organization, articulation, succession, as well as the development of legal techniques, language and notarial practices, we intend to understand, in a wider territory, the impact of this movement of notaries public between towns, on the notarial activity and what their role was in the scope of regional power, as well as in the relationship between local and central powers. Keywords: North of Portugal, 15th century, notary public, notaries public.
