    Este trabajo analiza las inspecciones a las boticas de Calahorra y Aldeanueva, organizadas por el concejo con la ayuda de un boticario de Burgos. Las inspecciones, permitidas por la legislación vigente, se realizaban sin previo aviso y revelan cómo se controlaba la calidad de los fármacos y se aseguraba su disponibilidad en áreas remotas.

    El estudio detalla la dinámica interna de las inspecciones de boticas, el sistema de registro del escribano y el método del visitador: si revisaba lo que iba viendo o se ayudaba de algún documento que llevaba consigo para inspeccionarlas. También se menciona la falta de un médico del concejo y los esfuerzos conjuntos del ayuntamiento y el cabildo para contratar uno. La botica de Aldeanueva estaba a cargo de un oficial bajo la supervisión de un boticario de Alfaro. Una conclusión es que el escribano registraba fielmente lo que escuchaba durante las inspecciones.

    This work analyses the inspections of the pharmacies in Calahorra and Aldeanueva, organised by the council with the help of a visiting pharmacist inspector from Burgos. The inspections, permitted by the legislation, were carried out without prior notice. This helps to reveal the quality control of the medicines and how their availability was ensured in remote areas.

    The study specifies the internal dynamics of the pharmacy inspections, the scribe’s recording system, and the inspector’s method: whether the inspector reviewed what he saw or used a reference list he carried specifically for the inspections. It also mentions the lack of a council doctor and the joint efforts of the town hall and the cathedral chapter to hire one. The pharmacy in Aldeanueva was managed by an official under the supervision of a pharmacist from Alfaro. One conclusion is that the scribe faithfully recorded what he heard during the inspections.
