  • Resumen
    • The Ecuadorian government has enacted laws and policies that seek to protect children and adolescents, ensuring their rights and well-being. Unfortunately, violations of the rights established in the legislation for unaccompanied migrant children and adolescents have been documented in Ecuador. The objective of this research is to analyze the implementation of public policies in the province of Carchi, aimed at guaranteeing the adequate comprehensive development of these minors. The research modality used is qualitative and quantitative. It is concluded that the ownership of legal and constitutional principles has been violated, due to gaps between the theory and the implementation of these public policies aimed at guaranteeing their rights since they enter Ecuadorian territory. Although current legislation provides a solid framework for the protection of the rights of this vulnerable group, its effective application requires adjustments and even the creation of new regulations. It is essential to consider the practical aspects of the implementation of new regulations, including the provision of resources, the training of professionals involved and raising awareness of society in general.
