Deudas del padre-abuelo: Remembranzas desde las ausencias por hombres adultos mayores de retorno migratorio

    La presente investigación recupera las narrativas de padres adultos mayores del oriente del estado de Morelos (contexto de estudio elegido por su alta densidad migratoria), quienes se identifican como hombres ausentes con sus hijos/as debido a los años e incluso décadas como migrantes indocumentados en los Estados Unidos. Refieren tener deudas de padre, mismas que intentan cubrir con su presencia y participación en el cuidado de nietos/as para recuperar el tiempo que no estuvieron presentes, y poder redimirse en sus relaciones familiares y generacionales. Metodológicamente se implementaron herramientas de la gerontología narrativa para rescatar la memoria autobiográfica, entrevistas en profundidad y construcción de la trayectoria migratoria, de paternidad y abuelidad. Entre los resultados se destacan que es en la vejez, en el que surgen cuestionamientos, malestares, inconformidades y oportunidades de tiempos perdidos en el ejercicio de la paternidad, que tras la búsqueda constante por el cumplimiento de los mandatos asociados a la edad joven/adulta-productiva y proveedora dela masculinidad se ausentaron por largas temporadas de sus hogares de origen.

    The present investigation recovers the narratives of older adult fathers from the eastern state of Morelos (a context of study chosen for its high migratory density). They identify themselves as absent men with their children due to years and even decades as migrants undocumented in the United States. They refer to having father’s debts, which they try to cover with their presence and participation in the care of grandchildren to recover the time that they were not present, and to be able to redeem themselves in their family and generational relationships. Methodologically, narrative gerontology tools were implemented to recover autobiographical memory, in-depth interviews, and construction of the migratory, paternity, and grandparent trajectory. Among the results, it stands out that it is in old age, in which questions, discomforts, disagreements, and opportunities of lost time in the exercise of paternity arise, that after the constant search for the fulfillment of the mandates associated with the young/adult age-productive and provider of masculinity were absent for long periods of time from their homeplace.
