  El artículo constituye una aproximación al concepto de stásis en la antigua Grecia (etapas arcaicas y clásica) y a su proyección en el pensamiento político. Según esta finalidad, se define el significado del vocablo, se pasa revista a algunas de sus manifestaciones relevantes -particularmente al caso de Atenas-, se evalúan perspectivas historiográficas y se aborda la representación de esta noción en autores como Platón y Aristóteles.

  This paper discusses the concept of stasis in Ancient Greece –during archaic and classical periods-, and its further projection in political thought. According to this purpose, the meaning of the word gets defined, some of its relevant expressions are reviewed -particularly the case of Athens-, historiographical perspectives are evaluated, and the representation of this notion is addressed in authors such as Plato and Aristotle.
