    The essay intends to reflect on the profile of the greatest poetess of the sixteenth century through the narrative interpretation, historically meditated but supportive, that Maria Bellonci offered starting from a radio show in 1951, arriving to a historical and literary portrait collected in the posthumous volume Segni sul muro: title of a single elzeviro, dated back to 1947 which, having become the general title of the entire set of journalistic reports published in 1988, should be questioned for its evident reference to the well-known The Mark on the Wall, signed in 1917 by Virginia Woolf.

    Il contributo intende riflettere sul profilo della maggiore poetessa del Cinquecento tramite l’interpretazione narrativa, storicamente meditata ma solidale, che ne ha offerto Maria Bellonci a partire da un programma radiofonico del 1951 per giungere al ritratto storico e letterario raccolto nel volume postumo Segni sul muro: titolo di un singolo elzeviro risalente al 1947 che, diventato il titolo generale dell’intero insieme di interventi giornalistici pubblicati nel 1988, va interrogato per il suo manifesto riferimento al noto Il segno sul muro firmato nel 1917 da Virginia Woolf.
